About
Tripwire is a decorative string-like block that connects between tripwire hooks. When a player or mob walks through the wire, it sends a redstone signal to any adjacent redstone components, making it useful for automated trap systems, alarm networks, or entrance detectors.
Place tripwire hooks on opposite sides of a doorway or hallway, then use the tripwire item to connect them. The wire itself is invisible to players at a distance and breaks when stepped on, triggering the hooks' redstone output. On servers, it's a common way to create non-lethal detection systems or to alert admins to restricted areas being breached.
Tripwire stacks to 64 and can be given directly via command. It has no material properties and breaks instantly when mined.
