About

The End Portal is a special block that forms the frame of the portal structure found in Strongholds. It cannot be broken, mined, or collected in survival mode, and does not stack. On servers, admins cannot spawn it using the give command despite the command's existence in the game engine.

End Portals are generated naturally as part of Stronghold architecture. When a player throws an Ender Pearl into a frame of activated End Portal blocks, the portal activates and transports the player to the End. This block is typically not manipulated directly by admins except in creative mode for building or testing purposes.
